Encoded Final Draft
Performance Risk assessment
This is the Risk assement for the filming of the performance which will happen after school on Friday the 24th of October. For Health and Safety purposes we wanted to fill out this risk assesment. Doing this also made us think more about what could possibly go wrong in the performance and helped us to plan around these problems incase they do occur.
Encoded props
This is the sign we are going to use as the main set feature for our performance. This will be postitioned behind the band and will be very prominant in the performance and will be haging from support above the band.
So that the sign is visable in the dark room we will be using it will have different colour spotlights on it depending on what time in the song it is. Also it will be illuminated by a long string of white lights.
Evidence of filming
This is the set we used for a very quick shot in our video. This is a dark area around the back of the school stage. We really like the lighting you can acheive in this small confined space and we used it to illuminate the singers faces as they sung the song. This will be used like snippets to insert into the music video when they are appropriate. This also allows us to use the 4 quarters of faces which was an idea we have always wanted to do as we think it could look very professional.
Evidence of filming/editing
Max Johnsonn is editing the scene we just filmed. He is editing the scene in which we are singing the song in the dark confined space pictured above. He is using the editing software Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. He is placing overlays on the different qaurters of people faces and then using this to change on the beat of the song into someone else's face. This is a feature we have wanted to put into our music video since we started planning it.
Halfway presentation - Peer Feedback
The feedback we received was all taken on board and we have used the comments to steer the group in the direction we want to go. This comment says there is a gap in the market for our group so then in the future we have steered our group towards filling this gap.
In the comments of this sheet, the person has said that they don't think the location we are planning to use will look professional enough for what we want. After we received this feedback we did research into music videos to see how they make there location look professional. We noticed a trend that performance in large black rooms look very professional and this was what we wanted to recreated in our set. To achieve this we will be using large black curtains so you cannot see the edge of the room. Also we will be using lights to illuminate the singers and the sign which is a prominent prop in our performance.

Encoded Live Show/ Performance video plan
Below I have inserted the plan for our live performance part of our video, we have taken inspiration from groups such as Mumford and sons (the fairy light idea) as well as looked to challenge the conventions of stereotypical 'indie' bands by including stage visuals such as confetti. The idea is relatively simple and crisp but I believe it will be extremely effective and professional once completed.
Prop list requires for the shoot:
-artist outfits ( to be decided)
- Encoded back drop
- Lights x 3
- Confetti
- 2 x Leaf blowers
- 2 x Black Sheets
- Guitar
- 2 Mic stands and Mics
- potentially drums subject to group decision.
Filming
This is a scene were we filmed in a very dark area at the back of the stage. We never used this shot but this was helping as it allowed us to know which shots would us and also lead us to do more institutions research. We also researched into our genre more after this failed shoot.
Sam Cooks Costume
This is the costume that Sam Cook will be wearing. After lots of research into the music industry we realized that most indie duo's dressed in the same ways. This is the closest we could get to the feel that there clothes created.
More Encoded Photos
We have used these strang photo affects becuase we really want to highlight the fact that they are a very unique two man group.
Encoded Photoshoot
During the photo shoot we took a very large variety of image in many different locations. Most of them we found to be very unsuitable and we decided to not use them. This is the picture we liked the most and we have made the, into these 2 posters. As a group we prefer the top picture and this is the main poster for our group.
Inspiration
In our production we do not want people to get bored whilst watching our production. We are going to cut it carefully so that there is narrative and performance all combined and the performance shots will be imaginative and creative.
Costumes
We are going for the distinctive indie look in our video, this is a prominent theme in our video and we want the 2 performers to look like they belong there singing the song.
All of these pictures strongly reflect the look we are going for in our costumes and in our performamce.

Our Choices for our music video.
When we were brainstorming all our ideas into sutable music video, we were heading towards a narrative idea. We always new that we wanted to have some perfomance in our video. As we were planning we wanted build up in narrative and then a big performance at the end of the video. After we had a talk with Pete Frasher he said we should focus more on a performance idea. With this new advice we are now going to focus more on a performance for our video.
For our performance we do not to just watch the band standing ther performing as we feel this will be very boring and people would not want to watch it. There for we will be cutting it well with outher shots and other scene so that it is constantly different and is not boring.

4 Key Choices - Audience
Primary Audience: The main audience we aiming for is indie rock followers. We hope that word of our group will become popular due to word spreading though platforms such as social media.
Secondary Audience: Our secondary aundience are teenagers. Our fresh and young band will appeal you a younger audience who, because of indie influences we will be appealing to a large group of teenagers.

Video Inspiration Ideas
Inspiration
This video is going to be a great help to us making our video. Although the song is a different genre the whole song is performance based. This is what we want our video to look like.

Cross Media Evaluation.
I will be analysing Ellie Golding cross Media promotion.
In the Album cover and the magazine cover the same picture of Ellie Golding is used. Her Hair is all messed up and makes her look like she is in turmoil. This is consistant through most media products of the teaser and magazine cover.

Self Evaluation.
My 2 Greatest strengths: my best strength is getting the blog up to date for the group and organising people.
Two skills I need to work on are: Not being offended by constructive critism. I also need to argue less with members of the group.
Things I learnt from the group: I have learnt a lot about Photoshop and the importance of good camera work.
Our group would work a lot better if we all listen more carefully to other ideas.
